Kid's Store
LISA KLINE
After successfully opening my women’s concept then men’s it seemed natural to open kids when I started to have babies. I always enjoy learning how to buy different categories as they are all very different especially kids! I decided to buy 0-14 and every size in between in all categories in typical LK fashion as I like curating a multifaceted experience which included accessories, blankets, music, eyewear, jewelry, toys, games, gifts, and of course the cutest contemporary clothing in the marketplace. I bought a lot of black for a kids store and made it more rock and roll but it was awesome! We had every celebrity shopping there and all the stylists came in who bought my clothing to dress all the coolest kids on TV at the time. Like all my other stores many brands were launched and birthed at Lisa Kline Kids on Robertson.
I designed some of my favorite LK packaging as I needed to create a new logo that wasn’t my Lisa Kline girl but the Lisa Kline Kid which was a boy with a sideways baseball hat and a girl with pigtails. I chose chocolate brown with tan blue and pink, had custom tissue, wrapping paper, ribbon, stickers, bags as well as designed wall paper for the kids play area. I had a gate and toys so the parents could shop and not worry about their kids running into the street or getting into mischief. I also served milk and juice and snacks to keep the kids entertained.
We had fun parties, book signings, lemonade stands outside and much more. The best part of the kids store was that so many of the brands I carried in the women’s and men’s added a kids division so I was able to carry my brands in all 3 locations and that was very cool. Lisa Kline Kids was also one of the most successful kids stores in the country pulling in a huge volume of sales which made me proud. To this day I curate kids in almost all of my stores and I still love buying that category.
